Alexander and Sons Towing rollback loaded with a pickup at a yard
The fleet

Two trucks.
Very different jobs.

A rollback flatbed for the road and a heavy conventional wrecker for everywhere the road stops. Between them there is very little in central and west Alabama we cannot reach.

Unit 01

Ford F-650 Rollback

The truck you will see on most calls. A steel-deck rollback with a wheel-lift behind it, which means it can carry one vehicle on the deck and tow a second one at the same time.

A rollback is the right answer for almost everything with four wheels. The deck tilts down to a shallow angle, the vehicle is winched or driven on, and then it rides completely off the road surface. Nothing drags, nothing spins, and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain does not get damaged on the way to the shop. The livery on the door is not decoration either: the phone number and USDOT registration are painted on it because that is what a legitimate carrier does.

Unit 02

Heavy Conventional Wrecker

When the address ends where the pavement does, this is what goes. A conventional-cab heavy truck built for winch work and rough ground rather than tidy car parks.

Rural Alabama is full of jobs a rollback cannot reach: timber tracks, red-clay drives, storm damage a long way from a paved road, and vehicles that ended up somewhere no low-slung deck is going to follow. This unit handles the approach and the pull. Once the vehicle is back on hardstanding it can be transferred to the rollback for the run into town.

On board

What is in the truck matters
as much as the truck.

Wheel-lift straps

Eight-point strapping through the rim at every corner. Straps never touch bodywork or paint.

Ratchets and safety chains

Every load is tensioned and chained. A vehicle that shifts on a deck is a vehicle you pay for twice.

Winch and snatch block

Slow controlled pulls for anything seized, ditched or off the shoulder.

Skates and dollies

For vehicles locked in park, missing a wheel, or with a drivetrain that will not turn.

Boost equipment

Professional boost packs with correct polarity for modern module-heavy vehicles.

Lockout tools

Air wedges and long-reach tools. No coat hangers, no broken glass.
